"...if we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow."
- John Dewey
As the Internet and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) have fundamentally changed the way we communicate and work, so too they are changing the ways in which we teach and learn. RVS embraces the use of ICT and supports its meaningful use in Teaching & Learning throughout the curriculum via innovative classroom practice. We encourage all users of technology to create more than they consume and use their creativity for the edification of others.
It is our aim to encourage students to become global digital citizens, as illustrated in the 21st Century Fluencies below:
PORTABLE DIGITAL DEVICES
RVS provides students access to tablets for use within the classroom from Years 1-8 at a ratio of 1:1. The school carries the cost of providing students access to online learning material without additional cost to parents.
DEVICE USAGE GUIDELINES
We are currently developing an online Portal system through which parents can check their child's grades and learning resources, as well as access a range of related information. Students will also be able to access online learning materials, class projects and related learning matter via a single sign-on within the Student Portal.
Secured WiFi access is available throughout the School ensuring unparalleled connectivity to the world outside the School gate.
"Create as much, if not more than you consume...."
