Great singing today guys! Keep up the good work, and make sure you're learning your words off by heart. Here's this week's songs to learn.
A reminder that our next TEMPO concert is fast approaching, and one of our own tutors is the guest performer: Miss Kimberly Jones! Come along and hear her perform some special pieces on the piano. All students who are performing need to be at the Wesley Centre early for tune up (no later than 6:45pm please!), and must pay their entrance fee at the door as they come in.
Looking forward to a wonderful night!
Well done everyone on learning last weeks songs. Remember, we need a rapper for this weeks song "How Bizarre", so if you think that's you, please learn the soloists lines as well as the choirs. In "I see Red" everyone needs to remember to pronounce the "d" in Red. You're doing great - see you next week!
Here's a fun brass band version of the Colonel Bogey piece we've been learning.
Sports people start off their practices with warm up exercises, then they focus on improving particular skills before they finish off with a game. In the same way, guitarists need to do warm up exercises, focus on improving particular skills, and finish off with some fun tunes they already know. So here are some general instructions on how you should spend your daily 20-30 minute guitar practice time. Use these instructions to focus your time and your playing will improve dramatically.
We are looking forward to our first music assembly of the year on Friday 24th June, and encourage all parents of our music students to make a real effort to be there. This is a wonderful way for us to celebrate the God-given talent of music, the commitment of our children to learning new skills, and the blessing the Music Academy is to our school. Watch this space for further details as they come to hand.
Hi Choir Members,
It was lovely to meet you all today. As I said, we'll be working at memorising our parts for two songs each week, with the goal of having learnt all the songs off by heart by the end of Term 2.
Below are this weeks songs to learn. Have fun!
I encourage you not to miss a wonderful opportunity for your musical children to gain some confidence before performing at our Music Assembly and TEMPO concerts this term. Check out the brochure below for the Free performance workshop being held on Saturday 14th May with Jacinta Nott at the Wesley Centre. Please register this coming week with Linda Lloyd.
