Due to some technical issues, the video that was recorded this week will be delayed until next week. In the meantime, here is a great book read by a teacher from New Albany Elementary School.
Lost Property Box
There are a few sweatshirts, a PE uniform top, a couple of pairs of socks and an adults jumper in our lost property box. This will be emptied soon and whatever has not been claimed will be used as spare clothes for when accidents happen. Please come and have a look before the end of Week 4 and claim anything that belongs to your children.
Slippers During Term 2-3
If your child has slippers at home they are welcome to bring them to wear during classtime in these cold months. Any slippers that are practical for at school and don't have any negative writing on them are welcome.
Click below to watch the next Weekend Video. I wonder who will be reading?
A reminder about uniform:
- tights worn must not be able to be seen under the school skirts
- tights and shorts for PE must be school uniform or fully black, with no signage
- extra shirts for warmth must not be able to be seen under school shirts
- shoes must be school shoes, which are sneakers or sandals
If you have any more questions about uniform please ask at the office or one of the teachers.
Our focus for maths this term is "Measurement." We have been having lots of fun learning about measuring in the classroom, including dressing up like builders and using measuring tapes. Mrs Crossley even got involved! We've got displays all around the classroom showing the work the students have been doing, so come and have a look when you are dropping your child off in the morning.
Monday the 18th of February was a beautiful day to celebrate God's faithfulness. The Kapa haka sang a beautiful waiata, our Year 9 Pioneers received special badges and our mayor John Leggett cut the ribbon. After that Room 1's very own Alison did a brilliant job as she shook his hand and gave him flowers.
