I hope that you all had a great time with friends and whanau over the holidays and that you all had some down time?
Term 3 will be a short but very busy term. We only have nine weeks this term and lots to fill it with!
Each day for weeks 1 & 2 we will be practising for our school cross country, so PE shoes are a MUST.
Friday of Week 2 is our school cross country day so please keep an eye to the school notices for times of events. We are having a few extra activities on this day so be ready!
The Olympic Games are upon us and during this time we will be focusing on this as part of our Social Studies. Our Interact theme is Gold is Holy and Pure and this theme will weave through all that we do in our daily school life.
Mr. Elwood will be taking Room 3A EACH Tuesday from now until the end of the year. This will allow the boys to have some specialist Science and Technology teaching, as well as music and the KIDS SHED.
As we have a full week of Fundamental Skills in week 9 we will NOT have a set PE day each week. This is to allow us to ensure that there is a balance in our class curriculum. We may have some PE on Fridays but please..... watch this space!
Science Fair is also upon us this term and if your child is involved, it is vital that you stay in touch with either Mr. Elwood or Mrs Ramsay as they will be overseeing this. REMEMBER the main part of the work for this is home based, we are only able to offer guidance.
The terms Scriptures were given to the boys on the last day of Term 2. This was to allow them the chance to work on this over the holidays. I will place these scriptures on the website in due course. This HAS to be completed by the end of WEEK 7 - THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL.
Weekly Scriptures ARE optional and are to be encouraged. Please help your child with these.
HOMEWORK takes a similar form to Term 2's project. If you DO NOT wish your child to complete homework please let me know OTHERWISE I will expect this in each Friday.
As always should you need to chat with me please feel free to call the office or email me.
I love the facts that we are growing fine men for God's army. May we march together proclaiming His word!
