Welcome to our first blog update for the year written by one of Room 5's students. It's been a busy but fantastic start of the year and I look forward to seeing the growth in the students as the year progresses. I have attached the timetable for all year 7s and 8s below for reference. Reminder that PE gear is to be brought to school every Monday and Thursday and the occasional Friday. We will give students plenty of notice if we are doing outside Friday activities.
2020 Term 1 Recount by Caleb Robinson
So let's start off with the most important events in this term.
First let's just point out the new classrooms that've been constructed in these past months…
While we’ve been enjoying our summer HOLIDAYS!! drinking our cool fizzy and going swimming now and again, there were some people also known as builders constructing Room 8 and 9 for our year 9s and 10s to enjoy so a special thanks to them.
Moving onto more relevant topics from last week on Friday the 7/2/2020 yes! I’m talking about Athletics, it was a warmish cool day perfect for sports and games. It started off with a fun activity then running shortly after with high jump, shot put, long jump etc…
Well with that being said i would like to say Good Job to everyone who participated in Athletics, (especially the red team.) :)
I hope some people can relate with me when I say the year of 2020 Term 1, has been a good start for our school like it has many years before and I will assume it continues for the rest of the term.
**but not any more to prevent the spread of illness. Elbow to elbow touches only. #staysafe
We also encourage all students from Years 7 upwards to begin using their own laptop at school. We strongly recommend you consider this option for your child as the use of such devices allows our students to access a wide range of opportunities for learning which are beyond the walls of the classroom. Students using devices are able to collaborate in solving real-world problems and to develop the essential learning skills that are needed for life in the 21st Century.
