The Board of Trustees is made up of Parent Representatives, Proprietor Representatives, a staff representative and the Principal. 

PARENT REPRESENTATIVES:

There are 5 Parent Representatives who are elected through a vote from parents of the children at the school.  Currently our Parents Representatives are as follows:

JAMIE RUFFELL (Chairman)

Jamie is a self employed motor mechanic and has two children at Richmond View School.  He is married to Tracey and was elected to the Board in 2007.  Jamie, Tracey and their children are part of the Elim Church in Blenheim.

OWEN WILSON

I’m Owen Wilson and I am an Aircraft Technician Tutor at the NMIT Woodbourne School of Aviation. I have a Canadian wife (Angela) and 6yr old twins (John and Sharon) who are in Year 2 with Miss Galloway. All three are a huge blessing from God to me.

My interests include being a home handyman, part time builder, flying, photography, music, tramping around our beautiful country and of course, my family. I believe our families are a huge responsibility for each of us as parents, and we need to take on that responsibility with much love, clear guidelines and enough discipline to shape our children to be kind and thoughtful members of our community.

I also believe that the school which has the responsibility of helping educate our children, also shares that responsibility and plays a major part in both their education and their life-skills.

I believe we have a wonderful school here at Richmond View, and one that has a great balance between its educational curriculum, and the character development it promotes in our children, under God.

MARIAN MILLER

Marian is an ex teacher from Richmond View School, being one of the original teachers when the school opened in 1983.  She is married to Alfred and they have one child at this school.  Marian has had a great deal of input into the school, both professionally and as a volunteer helper.  Marian occasionally provides teacher relief for us when called upon, and can always be relied on to help when we get into a jam.  Marian and Alfred both attend the Blenheim Elim Church, and Alfred runs a mid week programme for teenagers there.

Marian is currently involved in doing additional study and training as she plans to enter the pre-school educational arena. 

Marian is currently involved with the Policy portfolio on the Board.

PROPRIETOR REPRESENTATIVES

The proprietor can have up to four representatives on the Board.  They are appointed by the governing body of the Blenheim Elim Church. The responsibilities of the Proprietor are to provide the land and buildings for the school, as well as to ensure that the special Christian character of the school is maintained.  At present there are only two Proprietor Representatives on the Board.  They are:

TOM HATCH

Tom is the Senior Pastor of the Blenheim Elim Church.  Tom is married to Suz, and both of their two children came to this school before they moved on to college.  Tom sees the school as a mission to the local Christian community, giving Christians from all the denominations in our town access to Biblically based Christian education for their children. 

NICOLA REEVES

Nicola is married to Dallas,  they have two children who presently  go to Richmond View School.  Nicola is on the Board of Trustees as a proprietor  representative for the Blenheim Elim Church. Nicola is employed at the school as a monitor who is very passionate about a Biblically based Christian education for the children.

STAFF REPRESENTATIVE

JANE FRANSEN

Jane is a fully registered teacher and currently teaches year 7 and 8 students in Room 2.  Jane is on the "Amenities Committee" of the Board, which has the role of keeping all the various bits and pieces around the place in order, as well as extending our student facilities in the playground.  

Jane and her husband attend the Blenheim Elim Church.
